F1 2025 - Monza 🏎️ 🇮🇹
It's lights out and away we go after the summer break 🏎️
It was totally not painful seeing all the drivers on their yachts and in jacuzzis on Instagram! Yeah, just gotta keep telling myself that even if I was where they were, my problems wouldn't disappear. (although they would certainly be easier to bear (:

I only started watching F1 races recently and honestly the more you know what's happening and all the nuances the more fun it is. That's why I want to start this little series of posts centering around one race at a time. I want to get to know the track a little beforehand - the current lap records, previous year's tyre strategies, and so on. And also, obviously, document my impressions - my memory is horrible, I want to remember how the race was this time next year!
I also want to rank the races according to my liking, which I'm sure will be extremely subjective and biased ;P
I have no clue how Max still manages to mess with the McLarens, considering everybody thought the rest of the season was going to be a snoozefest with how dominant the MCL39 is. That's what I thought too, especially after Hungary - Netherlands didn't really do it for me either - but this weekend? I never expected for Red Bull to get their sh*t together and deliver, but damn right they did! Ever since I watched the laps in FP1 I had a good feeling. And yesterday, in Q3, Max set the new fastest lap record at Monza with 1m 18.792s, putting him on pole.

And today, the race. Oh boy, how nice is it to see Max so happy again. That man was joking and grinning the entire time. I want to say objectively the race was really boring, and Max was really just cruising his way to victory the entire time, but I could not take my eyes off of that RB21 getting further and further from his rivals. I was not bored for one second. Though now that I think about it.... have I ever been bored watching an F1 race?

As for my impressions of Monza. It's fine. I think the speed would be really fun to watch IRL but on TV it doesn't blow you away. Overall it's a lot of straights which makes it pretttty boring. I love the way the track has a forest in the middle and surrounding it, it makes for a totally different vibe.
